Super Comfortable Wrap Pants

Filed under: Projects — laupre @ 1:01 am

I love these pants!
I made these pants to wear now that the weather has finally decided to feel like summer.  They were perfect for running around all day taking photos, so I tried out the freezer paper stencil technique I learned on craftster to add a simple camera stencil to the leg.  You can tie them two different ways, either with the back side on top or the front side on top, so versatile!  I love the wide leg look.

In the photo above I have the back layer tied on top, with all the ties hanging out.

Here’s what the front looks like tied this way:

I was a little worried about them blowing open or exposing a little to much since they are slit all the way up the sides, but I found that it wasn’t a problem at all.  Even when the wind really blew, it never exposed anything above the knee.  I did expose a little thigh, though, when I was sitting down.  When the front layer is wrapped on top of the back one that doesn’t happen.

Here’s what they look like tied with the front layer on top:

In case you’re wondering, here’s a quick illustration to show just how these are tied on:

I just know I’ll be making more of these in the future!

  1. Nice – I had been planning to make a few pairs of these, and then just kind of forgot.

Did you use any particular pattern, or just wing it?

  2. Omg! Those are awesome pants! I love the camera stencil, too, but those are some really wicked pants! I’ve never seen those before! <33

  3. How do you where these? On both posts about them, after it says, “here’s a quick illustration to show just how these are tied on” it is blank. These look super comfy, but maybe I’m dumb because I don’t get how you would wear them? What do you do if you have to go to the bathroom?

  4. I just made these last night and wore them to school today… I got SO many compliments, and when I showed my mom last night she kind of screamed, said they were the exact same kind she used to wear when she was my age, went up to the attic, and pulled two pairs out! I absolutely love them- thanks SO much for the tute!
